I have been pretty busy lately with hobby work, not necessarily all painting and modeling but trying to get a tournament together, traveling out of the area to meet up with some other gamers, doing Battle Reports and working on stuff for a Podcast.
As far has painting goes I am working on a Dark Angels Tac Squad that came in the Dark Vengeance kit. I am not done with it yet but getting pretty close.
As you can see I an not going for the normal Dark Angels Green, but

YouTube BatReps and THQ
Well I have been a very busy boy this last week. The weekend started with a 1,500 point tournament, continued with an extra gaming day on Monday while "Life After the Cover Save" recorded a show at Paper Hero's in Saugus, CA then I had my normal gaming night and did a bit of Painting last night.

Thunderdome Battle Result!
Well the fight at the LAtCS Thunderdome has been completed. I won't tell you the results here yet, as I will direct you the Episode 51 of the Podcast HERE. I will try to post a short synopsis of the battle in a day or 2 to give you time to listen to the episode.

Entering "The Thunderdome"!
Well tonight I set into "The Thunderdome" to face my impending doom of Biffomatic and his Gray Knights/Draigowing. I have had 2 games against Gray Knights since I knew I was going to be facing them in "The Dome", one was a tie against an almost exact copy of Biffs list and the other was the win that I posted the BatRep of. Both games were against the less experienced DaddyT, so I don't know what kind of "advanced" trick Biff may have up his sleeves and that makes me a bit nervous.
it is time...

Potential list for the Thunderdome
So I have been thinking about what army and what list I want to take into the LAtCS Thunderdome. I think the major issue I will run into is finding a list that will not only be able to beat the Draigo Wing that Biff has but one that will hopefully last though several other match-ups. Here I will go over a list I have been thinking of for using from my Imperial Guard collection.

Preparing to enter the Thunderdome!
So for anyone who listens to the 40k Podcast "Life After the Cover Save" they started running what they have dubbed the "Thunderdome Survivor Series". This is a King of the Hill style campaign (1750 points) where 2 people face off and the winner gets to Live/Play another day and wait for the next challenger.
Well this last week Biffomatic (ya that same guy...) entered the Thunderdome. I was lucky enough to be there to watch a little bit of the action, but I was busy with my own game against some AssCannBack Spam from Blood Angels so I did not get to see most of the game. Luckily they gave updates of the game during the podcast. Biff brought Gray Knights to challenge the current champs Blood Angels. If you want to know how the game went you can listen to it streaming or download (free) from iTunes or from the LAtCS Forums. The results are in the last 5min or so if you want to skip most of the show. (Warning content has explicit language and subject matters not meant for children)

Painted Army Self Challenge Update 3!
Revenge of the Land Raider!
Ok, well last night I worked on the Land Raider and that was about it. I planned on finishing the models from the other night but I did not have the time (stopped at 1:00 again). The Land Raider is also not finished, it needs more detail work done and highlights, but it is well more then "3 colors" even if it doesn't look like it right away. So here it is. You may notice the hole on the top, that's where the Multi-Melta should go but it's not built yet. I will have to try and get that done tonight after the podcast appearance.
The Lions don't appear that well in the picture as the light appears to wash out the highlight that I did. They are all done with a Astronomican Gray and then I do an edge highlight with Skull White. As this may be the last post before the Tournament this weekend I will try to remember to take some Pics of the army all together as well as some of the competition.
And don't forget about listening to "Life After the Cover Save" tonight (episode 43). It should start on Ustream at 7:00 Pacific. I have been told that we will be talking about the Apoc game from earlier this month, as well as the "leaked" 6th ed rules, and the 40K in a Flash champagne that I have been running at my store.

Working toward a tournament.
Rhino
AoBR Captain w/Relic Blade
So I had to go to work on writing an army list that would do "ok" and that I would be able to hopefully have painted for the tournament. I settled on a list last week.
HQ:
Titus Leonis Maximus (Counts as Vulkan)
Elites:
Ironclad Dread w/H.Flamer & Meltagun, Drop Pod
Ironclad Dread w/H.Flamer & Meltagun, Drop Pod
7x Assault Terminators w/2 LC & 5 TH/SS, Land Raider Crusader w/Multi-Melta
Troops:
10x Tac Marines w/Melta, Missile Launcher, Powerfist, Rhino
5x Scouts w/Bolt Pistol, CCW, Powerfist, Combi-Melta
Fast Attack:
Land Speeder Storm w/Multi-Melta
Now I have to build a Land Raider Crusader and Land Speeder Storm from the Space Marine Megaforce that just came in, as well as I have to get a Scout Sgt with Powerfist, Tac Sgt with Powerfist, Meltagunner, and Missile Launcher Marine all built and magnetized. I also have the second pair of Contemptor arms to build and magnetize and magnetize the AoBR Terminators to have the Lightning Claws that were left over from the Assault Terminator box.
So I busted my hump this weekend. I made some molds of power fists for the Tac and Scout Sergeants and made some copies for them. I build the Missile Marine from AoBR and with some Dremel work got the Lion Shoulder pad on him. Magnetized the AoBR Terminators. Build and magnetized the Land Raider Crusader, and Land Speeder Storm. I also magnetized the Meltagunner so that I can switch out his guns... So far I have used about 100 of the 1/8th in magnets and half a dozen of the 1/16th inch ones.
Here is the end result of a hectic weekend.
Now to start painting everything...
Do you guys think I will have it done by Friday? I have some been invited to be on the Podcast "Life After the Cover Save" on Friday night, so I won't have any time to work then. If you aren't busy on Friday night check out the show live. They normally broadcast on UStream at http://www.ustream.tv/user/LAtCS you can also find them on iTunes or they will post a direct link the their newest episodes here on their forums.

'Ard Boys
With the Semi-Final round of 'Ard Boys tomorrow I am making some last minute adjustments to my list. I am not going in with the idea that I am going to win the whole thing as I know that there will be a lot of stiff competition here in the L.A. area. IGJames from my local store (who went 7-0 at the Bay Area Open) is going as well as some of the guys from Two Smoking Bolters are coming in town all the way from Las Vegas. I hope to put up a good fight and have some fun playing new people and new armies.
Right now there are a couple things that may become an issue with getting to 'Ard Boys. 1)Today (the day before 'Ard Boys) is my wife's birthday and we are having a party at our place. It might be hard to get some sleep. 2) I called the store that is holding the event to verify that I was on the list and... they did not have the list there. Also they are moving locations and the new store is not ready so the tournament is not being held at the store. The employee I spoke to said that the person who has the RSVP list should be calling everyone with the address and directions of how to get to the event location. When asked when I should receive a call he said "in a couple hours."
So now not only do I have to fight off drunk people I have to find an unknown event location for an event that will start at an unknown time...
This should be fun. I will try to take some pictures for everyone. I will be the giant of a man with the LAtCS t-shirt on. LAtCS = Life After the Cover Saves, this is a pod cast that a few local gamer's started about 40k and poop jokes. Check them out unless you are easily offended @ http://lifeafterthecoversave.com/
