Ok guys! With Forge World releasing updated character stats while also adding and clarifying Chapter Tactics for the chapters they support I finally have the information I need to build an Astral Claws army list.

Let's start with what we know for sure about the Astral Claws. They are lead by Lugft Huron.

Picked up some Tau on the Cheap.
So while I was at the FLGS this week one of our local tau players came in trying to sell his stuff because he is moving as did not want to take his 40k stuff with him. There weren't any takers and I was trying to talk a few friends into buy it because it was a good deal, but there weren't any takers. So as he was getting ready to leave he dropped the price by 1/2 of what he was asking before (and it was a great price before but my wife would have killed me) and I had to jump on it. I don't know what it was but I could not pass up a deal this good knowing that I was coming into some disposable cash after fixing come computers.
So what did I get?
So what did I get?

I made a difference and so can you!
Well Forge World is out with their updates for 6th Edition and they are asking for your questions. After I found out they had the updates on their website I decided to take a look at what changes they made to the units I own and wont to own.
Most of it looked much like what I expected but one thing popped out to me. The Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought had a special rule that gave it Skyfire if it did not move during that turn. This was to replace the "AA" rule that it had before if it did not move.

Self Painting Challenge V2 is Over! Apoc, Orks VS Imperial!
So I ended up going to bed at about 1:00am Saturday morning in order to get the terminators close to done. Then I had the pleasure of waking up 5 hrs later so I could pack up and make the 2hr drive down to the LA Battle Bunker. So now the question is "Was it worth it?"

Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought: Build
The Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought was a very interesting build. The kit is very well made with minimal flashing and mold line. The design is also outstanding I though. They got some interesting details into the model that I did not even notice till I was almost done building it. Things like how the leg joints and knee pads work in a way to give you a correct range of motion for the model so you know what kind of leg position would work well with the kit.
I have the pillar magnetized for easier transport. The model itself is also quite the job to magnetize. I have each joint in the arms magnetized, the shoulders, head, and torso all magnetized.
Here is a pic of the Torso and 1 arm in it's individual parts.
And finally here is a picture for size comparison with a chaos dread, and a peek at another project.
